Consent Process

Consenting is the process of getting permission from the user to track their number. Currently, we support tracking for AIRTEL, JIO, and IDEA/VODAFONE providers. Each provider has its consent process. This document provides the information to understand the consent process of providers supported by FT.

The consent process is triggered on the creation of a new trip or initiation of advance consent with the condition that the number is not already requested or consented. Each provider has its consent process which is explained in detail below.

Airtel:

Airtel numbers can consent through

  1. IVR Call

  2. SMS

The default method of consent is IVR calls. 3 IVR calls and then SMS gets triggered.

When the consent process is initiated, the user will get an SMS from the number ‘53848’ requesting consent. The user can approve the request by replying ‘Y' (case insensitive). The user would receive a message confirming the approval of consent. The user can reject by replying ‘N’ or ‘STOP’ (case insensitive) and the user would receive a consent rejection confirmation message from the same number. Replying with anything else would be considered an invalid selection and the user would not receive any message. On a consented number, the user can revoke the consent by sending ‘STOP’ (case insensitive) and the user would receive a message confirming consent cancellation from the same.

Consent Request Message Sample: To allow Freight Tiger to fetch your location for Asset Tracking using your SIM Provider, please reply "Y" (Toll Free).

Consent Approval Confirmation Message Sample: Thanks for your response. You have ALLOWED the location fetch request from Freight Tiger. To withdraw, reply "STOP" (Toll Free).

Consent Rejection/Revoke Confirmation Message Sample: Thanks for your response. You have REJECTED the location fetch request from Freight Tiger.

When the consent process is initiated, the user will get an IVR call from ‘8045770164’ requesting consent. The user can approve the request by pressing numbers between ‘1' and ‘9’. The user would hear a message confirming the approval of consent. The user can reject by pressing '0’ and the user would hear a consent rejection confirmation message. Pressing anything else would be considered an invalid selection and the user would be requested to press the number again.

If the user fails to pick up the call 3 times, consent through SMS is triggered and the user would receive an SMS requesting consent, the user can follow the steps explained below to complete the consent process.

Jio:

Jio numbers can consent through SMS. When the consent process is initiated, the user will get an SMS from the number ‘51712025’ requesting consent. The user can approve the request by replying ‘Y' (case insensitive). The user would receive a message confirming the approval of consent. The user can reject by replying ‘N’ (case insensitive) and the user would receive a consent rejection confirmation message from the same. Replying with anything else would be considered an invalid selection and the user would not receive any message. On a consented number, the user can revoke the consent by sending ‘CANCEL’ (case insensitive) and the user would receive a message confirming consent cancellation from the same. Replying anything other than ‘CANCEL’ on a consented number makes no difference and the user won’t receive any response from the telco.
